The Dys in Education, Professional Life and Work project is coming to an end (October 2025). In our final article we want to focus on a key target group of the project, Employers. In the final months of our project, we will be hosting multiple events in Ireland and Belgium that will invite participants to explore the latest project results focusing on employers.

In Ireland, the event will be held on the 29th September 2025 in-person, if you are in Dublin register your interest to attend now!
In Belgium, the multiplier event will take place on the 10th of September at 4.00 pm CET. If you don’t want to miss it, you can follow our Belgian partner on Facebook at or subscribe to their newsletter and receive updates on how to participate.
How can the project help you build an Inclusive Workplace?
Building Inclusive Work Environments requires time and resources that can facilitate employers to create accessible recruitment strategies and develop material in the workplace to improve accessibility for DYS workers as well as foster an understanding of holistic measures that can harness the strengths and talents of DYS workers. The DysinEduprowork project understands this need of employers and the importances of easily accessible resources to fill the gap of inclusiveness among people with Specific Learning Difficulties in the professional sphere.
To contribute to the building of inclusive workspaces we created a comprehensive guide with resources on neurodiversity and plan to provide support material for hiring neurodiverse staff. Moreover, we created a task blueprint module to help Employers and HR Managers with job processes overall, and employers will have access to templates online that apply to their situation as well as information on each learning disorder and its characteristics.
To inform Employers of the material developed by the partnership we would like to provide an overview of the project results and what they can be used for:
- Employer’s Comprehensive Guide: This resource developed using Genially covers strategies to improve co-worker interactions, practical training and awareness programmes, and accommodations for employees with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs). The module also highlights the benefits of neurodiverse hiring, offers communication tips for discussing workplace adjustments, and shares helpful resources.
- Fiches about learning disorders in the Workplace: Designed using Canva, the main goal of the fiches is to provide short, summarised information to help employers better harness the employees’ talents. The fiches are an additional resource to complement the employer’s guide.
The slides include specific characteristics of each SLD. They focus on learning disorders one by one, by highlighting the characteristics of each, as well as the strengths and challenges connected to each of them. They can provide you with practical tips on how to adapt the workplace to the needs of neurodivergent employees.
- Task Blueprint Module: The goal of this resource which includes a Canva presentation and downloadable templates is to inform employers of the benefits of creating task blueprints for various procedures in a company.
A blueprint can be made by an expert to pass the instructions to someone less experienced with the topic in question. However, workers can also create blueprints as a tool for taking notes, organising their knowledge, and creating task lists. For instance, they can be used to design an inclusive contract, or to guide staff on how to effectively use digital resources and carry out administrative tasks. This can empower staff to tackle daily workplace tasks that can cause anxiety or stress, particularly during onboarding into a new position.
- Support Material for Recruitment: This is planned to be published in October 2025, it will be a digital publication on support material for recruiting and employing neurodiverse workers; as recruiting learners with disorders may require adaptations depending on the circumstances, this activity will provide resources to the recruiter to be able to adapt the hiring process (for example, offering easy-to-read work documents and considering time constraints in case tests are necessary).
- Support Directory: finalised in September 2025, this will provide a depository of relevant resources for Employers across Europe including local resources in Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Greece and Estonia.
